About

About Weerd Science

Josh Eppard (Weerd Science) started his career early on landing a major label record deal with Universal at the age of seventeen as the drummer and co-songwriter of the band 3. After a ten year tenure with the band and becoming a casualty in the infamous Universal-Polygram merger, Josh, against the advice of managers and loved ones, left the band in pursuit of a career as a studio musician. In just two years time he played on four records including two major label releases (Hesher – Warner Bros. and R.A. the Rugged Man – Priority/EMI). As his studio chops improved with every project, he would later join a local outfit at the time known as Shabütie (which later became Coheed and Cambria). In time with this group he had found success until his departure in 2006 due to his own personal demons and internal creative struggles. It should be noted: no matter what project Josh is committed to, Weerd Science is always at the forefront of his creative mind. At the heart of “SICK KIDS” is his story of the toll success can have on your psyche and the scars left on his heart from the sacrifices made to become a success. After taking time off to get healthy and figure out where his musical compass pointed, Josh has never been more ready and dedicated to making his next vision come alive.

About Kill Your Rapper

Kill Your Rapper is a website dedicated to Weerd Science, or Josh Eppard and his various collaborators. We hope to provide up-to-date news (for real this time), in-depth discussion, accurate lyrics and good media to any old or future fan.

Back in June of 2006, after at least two years of being a fan, I created Kill Your Rapper because various transcriptions of Weerd Science lyrics that I had found on forums and elsewhere were hopelessly wrong. After quickly posting lyrics to every Weerd Science song released at the time, the site became quite useless. This also coincided with Josh leaving his former band, Coheed and Cambria, the same year. So, by May of 2007, the site stopped updating. It gathered dust for a year or so and finally was taken off the web by the lame provider I used. In anticipation of the new album, Sick Kids, dropping sometime this year, I wanted to recreate the fansite and make it better. WordPress, thankfully, helps with that by being awesome. So the lyrics are back, and new ones will be added; and so, hopefully, will up-to-the-minute news and all that.

That said, if you’re a fan of Weerd Science, you’re welcome here. If you aren’t, become one already.

Contact me any time! I welcome any and all feedback. I want this site to be as great as possible.

  1. great lyrics section, i found some songs ive been looking for for a while, keep up the great work. I couldn’t make out the 2 through 4 lines of the chorus in “try anything” for a long time. thought maybe you could use another ear though, the “?” is “pressure pot cookin'” also i think he says “grandma I’m not wasting my life, I promise while I’m gone I’ll write”

    • Hey, thanks dude! Let me know if you find anything else. I’m still not so sure about the line “All my loves won’t bother me” but it’s all I could come up with.

  2. Whoever runs this website please contact me through myspace [ http://www.myspace.com/mattrixny ] I can give you some new material for this website 9not music yet but information)

  3. WTF is going on with WS. Besides the shows on the east coast going on I haven’t heard or found any information about when the CD is actually gonna drop. December has been floating around but I still haven’t heard a release date… and December is a month away. Sounds like intensely bad news. Especially for someone who has been waiting for SK to drop for YEARS, literally. Josh needs to drop that shit so he can have my money for god’s sake.

  4. subjective reasons leadingONSet the cost of a $216check out nearly $114 and patrons will flip absent. Once you’re it valid the painless gladness on the bestMadrid’s specific these reasons.

  5. Is this place still for Weerd Science /Josh Eppard fans? I’ve been listening to Weerd science for 4 ish years now and it’s crazy how much his lyrics blueprint my life. I have so many questions. Hopefully this reaches someone.
