I love you, girl, but you gave me the clap!

* clap clap!*

Hey sick kids, check out the Weerd Science myspace page–“The Clap” has 167,000+ plays. That’s a big ass number! More than songs that have been posted up there for four years! That’s a good sign for the new record, don’t you think? Wavis thinks it’s because the song is so girl-friendly and infectious. Pretty good guess, in my opinion.

While you’re on the page make sure to listen to “Dear Sam” and “Fuck All People”! Get those playcounts up, too. Hell, listen to every song, then go buy Friends and Nervous Breakdowns even if you already have it, and listen to that. Keep Weerd Science on the brain, a ton of stuff is coming soon!

Mour Twittered News About the Video Shoot

•April 20, 2009 • 1 Comment

DJ Dirty Ern and Neesh have been twittering about the video!  Looks like there’s some super special guests…  Joey Eppard (Eppard Brothers, 420 Funk Mob, 3), Gartdrumm (PEACEBOMB, 420 Funk Mob, 3), Daniel Grimsland (3), and Anthony Masington (Mours)!

Dirty Ern: One more day of shooting!!! Starting at 4:20 probably going late tonite! New pics and vids coming soon on both DirtyErn and WS myspaces

Mours: are doing some Weerd Science stuff! http://twitpic.com/3nw0h

It also seems as if Neesh posted some behind-the-scenes photos (as well as some from the Hartford appearance) on her facebook.

Additionally, we’ve added the live video of “Conspiracy Theories w/Out Mel Gibson” from Webster Underground to the videos page.

If that’s not something to look forward to, I don’t know what is.

Sick Kids demos + new live audio

•April 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment

By request, I’ve added the Weerd Science Sick Kids demos that have been put up on MySpace, as well as an mp3 of the live video of “Zodiac.” Following that same vein, I ripped the audio from the live set from September 11, 2008 and the audio files are now up for download in the Audio section. Enjoy!

Random updates

Looks like Neesh updated the Video section with links to the SiCk KiDs studio videos, “Germs???” and “Rape Kit.” Check them out if you haven’t seen them for small tastes of the new tunes and a look at how the recording process happens.

Drew Manoram, a helpful visitor to the site, dropped in and helped figure out a lyric from “Try Anything”. Remember, if you ever have a lyrical correction or addition or whatever, comment and tell us! This site started out as a lyric site a few years ago and as such there is a special place, at least in my heart, for them. Weerd Science has always had a duality between begging to be heard and just not giving a shit, so knowing the messages behind the songs is essential–for this reason, I think the lyrics are important. Know them! Help everyone else out if you know a line we don’t!

It also came to my attention that I left the 2003 demo of “Suck My Dick” out of the download pack on the Audio page. Sorry about that! I’ll upload the song tomorrow seperately so you don’t need to download the whole pack again if you have.

Something crazy I just realized: the four year anniversary of the release of Friends and Nervous Breakdowns was last month. We’ve had that record for four years, and demos were floating around long before that. The effect Weerd Science has had on me or my life hasn’t faded in all that time–it’s only grown exponentially, in fact. And that will continue, I’m sure, with the release of the new album. Are you all as stoked as I am?

Sick Kids lyrics updated + Photo section

•April 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Lyrics for “Fuck All People” and “The Clap,” from the upcoming record Sick Kids, are now up in the lyric section! If you find any mistakes, make sure to comment and let us know! We want to be as accurate as possible.

In other news, there’s a photo section now. Enjoy!

New staff + new sections, etc.

•April 13, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Neesh, a longtime supporter of thefamily3 and a badass person all around, has joined the staff! This is good news for you all because she can give you news straight from the sources.

There’s also now a Shows section–I forgot to post it up earlier, sorry. And one more new section! The Press section will house album reviews, show reviews, stuff like that. Basically anything written by others about Weerd Science that doesn’t fit in the interview section.

On top of all that, there are links to new videos in the Video section. Enjoy!

Video section updated + Sick Kids updates

•April 13, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I worked a little on a few sections today, including the Videos section–some links to a couple live sets are there, and a link to the video for “Conspiracy Theories w/out Mel Gibson”. I also added lyrics for “Dear Sam, I’m Dead to You,” and will hopefully have the lyrics to the other Sick Kids songs we know so far up soon.

Regarding Sick Kids, Dirty Ern has an update on his Twitter regarding the record. He says that tour dates and an album release date will be coming soon!  I’ll try to comb through every source to bring all the Sick Kids updates I can, and I will make sure that any news gets posted up here as soon as possible. This year is the year!

Media added + lyrics update + more!

•April 11, 2009 • Leave a Comment

There is a ton of Weerd Science media available for direct download in the media section now! There are mp3s of various demos and projects, as well as two live sets. If you download, you will need WinRAR, but I’m assuming almost everyone has that, by now. Download it here if you need it, though.

I’ve also added the second half of the lyric update. Now all the lyrics from the old Kill Your Rapper are up! Soon, some lyrics from the Sick Kids demos will be put up.

And I just may have a surprise in store for later.

I’m still busy getting all the lyrics pages back online. I should be able to finish them tonight. All of Friends and Nervous Breakdowns is up for now, however.

I’ll concentrate on the Media section next, I think, after I find out just what is OK to upload.
